It is unfortunate that she adopted from Haiti. There were ample warnings in the press about opportunist adoption agencies profiting from the earthquake in Haiti--and ample articles warning that this was unconscionable--taking children during a crisis. And articles about problems with child trafficking in Haiti.
My blog Fleasbiting had several articles about child trafficking in Haiti including one that detailed a story about Haitians so fed up with child stealing and child trafficking that they were ready to physically attack those suspected of trafficking; my blog came up very high in searches about international adoption and searches that were country specific.
Anyone who wanted to know about adoption from Haiti would have known about corruption if they simply searched for Haiti and adoption. 2010 wasn't the 90's or even 2005 in terms of knowledge about child laundering and corrupt adoption agencies praying on vulnerable families for financial gain.
